Things I have learnt so far (from the past 3 trainings)
Two exercises I must do daily. They are:
- Trigger control exercise, 200 times, 3 sets a day, one in the morning, afternoon and in the night
- Hand grip exercise, 10 grips = 1 set. 2 sets a day
These exercises will help me attune to my trigger control and trigger release. Doing this in so that I can tighten my grouping even further on the card.
There are also several things Coach has taught me in doing the things that I need to do
These include:
- Optimum timing (i.e. 5 seconds) +-2 to 3 seconds. Competition and front card will influence the amount of time taken to pull the trigger.
- Strength needed to hold the gun. I've been holding the gun too stiff, causing my grip to shake
- Correcting my positioning and my CG. I've been putting my weight on my heel too much.
- Front sight-rear sight relationship. That is okay.
- Remembering that in follow through, arm must still be in locked position.
- Knowing how to adjust to natural aim.
Currently, my short term goal is to keep on minimising the amount of mistakes I make in firing on the back card, and eventually manage to be able to really tighten my grouping. Also be more confident with my shots as I maintain my optimum timing. Long term goal to develop a good relationship with my coach and eventually hit my old goal, which is hitting a consistent 9-ring score.
